PURPOSE:To plot outlines of side faces of a character by providing a means which generates a dot pattern of a stereoscopic character, where outlines of side faces of a designated character are drawn, besides the designated character itself. CONSTITUTION:Outlines in a linearized outline coordinate storage memory 504 are classified to lines in the direction to the visual point and those in the opposite direction, and they are stored in segment coordinate storage memories 509 and 510. A bend point extracting means 512 stores connection points between lines on the visual point side of outlines of an outline coordinate storage memory 501 in a point coordinate storage memory 513. Points to generate boundary lines of side faces of the stereoscopic character are stored together with coordinates stored by an outline classifying means 508. A segment plotting means 511 generates and erases dots with respect to picture elements between two coordinates on a pattern memory 516, and a point plotting means 514 generates and erases dots with respect to picture elements on the pattern memory 516, and a plotting position moving means 515 shifts the position of the pattern memory 516 to perform addition to coordinates of the pattern memory 516. The point plotting means 514 plots points on the pattern memory 516. |
