PURPOSE:To provide a multiple sintered compact improved in flexural strength and fracture toughness, composed of each specified amount of ceria-stabilized zirconia (Ce-TZP), alpha-alumina, lanthanum-based beta-alumina (LBA), etc. CONSTITUTION:Lanthanum oxalate, etc., is mixed with gamma-alumina powder so as to make the composition as LaAlO3, and the resulting mixture is calcinated and the product is then incorporated with alpha-alumina powder, Ce-TZP and a manganese compound at a desired weight ratio, followed by molding into a form. Then, this form is calcined at 1450-1700 deg.C to obtain the objective multiple sintered compact composed of 70-90wt.% of Ce-TZP, 3-22wt.% of alpha-alumina, 2-8wt.% of LBA and 0.01-0.3wt.% of MnO2. |
