PURPOSE:To prevent wrong detection caused by various kinds of noise and micro attachment at the time of detecting the attachment of a medium and double feeding. CONSTITUTION:A medium 1 is conveyed at constant speed by drive rollers 2, and the thickness of the medium 1 is converted into an electric signal by a magnetic sensor 9 through the medium of a movable roller 5 and a movable arm. The converted electric signal is averaged every fixed time by an averaging circuit 10, and this value is judged by a judging circuit 11 on the existence of abnormality in thickness within the detecting time. This results in preventing wrong detection caused by high frequency noise, micro attachment and noise fluctuation. |
