PURPOSE:To provide the method of rapidly classifying the genomic type of C type hepatitis virus (HCV), and to provide the oligonucleotide used for the method. CONSTITUTION:The cDNA is multiplied by a polymerase chain reaction(PCR) method using one or more of oligonucleotides #133, #134, #135 and #296 represented by formulas I to IV and IX (sequence numbers: No. 1 to No. 4 and No. 9) as an antisense primer. The multiplied products are subjected to an electrophoresis, and the genomic type is subsequently surely judged on the migration distance. The oligonucleotides #104, #23, #186 and #256 represented by formulas V to VIII (sequence numbers: No. 5 to No. 8) can also be used as the primer. The method allows to simply, rapidly and surely classify the genomic type of the HCV, thereby permitting to widely apply the method to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the HCV hepatitis and to the judgment of the treating suitability of a medicine, etc. |
