PURPOSE:To realize an INPUT/OUTPUT element having multiple terminals of single mode quantum fine lines. CONSTITUTION:This electronic wave switching element is provided with first regions 2, 3 consisting of a plurality of quantum fine lines ensuring INPUT/ OUTPUT of electrons from/to electrodes 1, and a second region 4 which is connected to the first regions and conducts phase modulation of electrons by control electrodes 5, 6. The quantum fine line has at least one of two structures: a taper structure 2, and a S-shape structure 3 (or curve structure 3). As a result, mode loss or mode conversion can be prevented. |
