PURPOSE:To always obtain a cylindrical battery having a good appearance by pressurization with a bending jig without damaging a member having a comparatively low melting point such as a sealing gasket or an insulating washer. CONSTITUTION:When a label type cylindrical battery is manufactured, a head- shrinkable label 2 is wound and stuck on a cylindrical crude battery 1, and rotated in the arrowed direction N by a driving roller 7. In this state, the upper and lower end parts 2a, 2b of the heat-shrinkable label 2 are locally exposed to hot air by the use of air heaters 9, 10. Thus, the upper and lower end parts 2a, 2b of the heat-shrinkable label 2 is thermally shrunk over the whole circumference and bent inward. The upper and lower end parts 2a, 2b of the heat- shrinkable label 2 are successively pressurized with a certain bending jig. Thus, the heat-shrink work of the upper and lower end parts 2a, 2b of the heat- shrinkable label 2 can be performed in a short time with a minimum quantity of heat. |
