PURPOSE:To provide a method of optimizing the operation of an electronic component mounting device, such as a chip mounter, in consideration of changing-over of a positioning unit, which accompanies the rotation of an index table. CONSTITUTION:At the time of decision of pairs of cassettes in a process of optimizing the arrangement order of a plurality of the cassettes 61 with electronic components 8 housed therein, a combination of the fellow two cassettes, in which two kinds of the electronic components to require a changing-over of a positioning unit are housed, is prohibited and at the time of decision of the permutation of the pairs of cassettes, a cost between the pairs of cassettes, which includes the changing-over time of the positioning unit about the two kind of the electronic components to be taken out from the adjacent pairs of cassettes, is defined and a search for the pairs of cassettes is made. After that, in a process of optimizing the mounting order of the components 81 on a printed board 80, a cost between the components, which includes the changing- over time of the positioning unit about the two kinds of the components to be continuously mounted, is defined and a search for the components is made. |
