PURPOSE:To obtain the light intensity nonlinear filter which can operate as a waveform shaper. CONSTITUTION:The input light which is made incident from a fiber end is branched by a beam splitter 2. The light traveling straight from the beam splitter 2 is made incident on an optical amplification and deflection part through an optical fiber, and amplified and deflected here to extract only a component with a specific angle of deflection, which is outputted from the optical fiber as output light. The rest light branched by the beam splitter 2 is photodetected by a photodetector 6. The light photodetected by the photodetector 6 is converted into an electric signal, which is amplified by an amplifier 8 and inputted to the optical amplification and deflection part 4. Thus, the electric signal generated by the photodetector 6 is utilized to perform desired waveform shaping by adjusting the optical amplification factor of the optical amplification and deflection part 4, the varying speed of the angle of deflection, the range of the selected angle of deflection, etc. |
