NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTIC LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide a positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolytic lithium secondary battery having high voltage and energy density, and ensuring stable supply at low cost by using LiNi1-XMnXO2, as the material of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:A substance having a hexagonal system and containing LiNi1-XMnXO2 (0.05<=x<=0.45) with an X-ray diffraction peak position along a Cu-K alpha line on the plane (110) thereof within 64.42 to 65.00 degrees at 2 thetais used as the active material of a positive electrode 1. This electrode 1 is made of lithium slat, nickel salt and manganese nitrate, and formed by heating and baking under oxidizing atmosphere.
