PURPOSE:To perfectly satisfy other physico-chemical characteristics required as an electrolyte solvent of a battery, and to make it harder for the structure to be reduced by a negative electrode than a PC by using a specific annular carbonic ester as a material forming the solvent of the electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:An annular carbonic ester compound (1) or (2) as indicated by formulae, is used singly or by mixing it with another nonaqueous solvent. As the other nonaqueous solvent to be mixed with the annular carbonic ester compounds (1), (2), it can be chosen from known ester and ether group, but it is preferred not only to choose the one having a characteristic that is hard to be reduced by a negative electrode, but also to choose the one that can be adjusted to a generally suitable physico-chemical characteristic as a nonaqueous solvent for battery through mixing with the annular carbonic ester compound. |
