The appts. comprises an antenna head (2) for holding an antenna detecting and localising magnetic fields associated with the earth. The head (2) is mounted on a hand grip or handle (1) with a pivot (3) allowing the head to rotate. The axis of the head and antenna (YY) makes an angle with the axis of rotation (XX) of less than 90 degrees. In addition the axis of rotation of the head (XX) makes a small angle with the axis of the handle (ZZ). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple quick and convenient stabilisation of magnetic field location.
