<p>PURPOSE:To compress inputted image data by an optimal coding. CONSTITUTION:The image data including a moving image and a still image is supplied to a data discrimination part 3 and the data is separated into moving image data and still image data. The moving image data is supplied to a moving image coding part 2 and the inter-frame or inner-frame predictive coding suitable to the coding of the moving image is performed by using a DCT part 22, a quantization part 23 and a variable length coding part 24, etc. This coded data is supplied to a data synthesizing part 4. On the other hand the still image data is supplied to a workstation 1, a MH coding, for instance, etc., is performed for the data in a coding part 18 and the coded data is supplied to the data synthesizing part 4. The two kinds of data supplied to the data synthesizing part 4 are synthesized in this data synthetic part 4 and the data is outputted as image coded data.</p> |
