A nuclear reactor fuel assembly comprises pencils of canned fissile material grouped in a cluster, each can being provided with helical fins in which are formed uniformly-spaced notches for engaging the fins of adjacent fuel pencils. Some of the fins may be truncated along a line parallel to the axis of the fuel pencil. A retaining collar carrying an annular guide shoe may be fitted at each end of the assembly. |
