<p>PURPOSE:To detect the glance direction of a user and to move a cursor on a display based on this direction. CONSTITUTION:From the figure picture of the operator fetched by two compact cameras 164 and 165 fitted on a display 161, several points are decided by an image processor 166. At the time of observing a reference point previously decided on the display 161, the several points are stored as initial values by a glance direction calculator 167. The directions of the face and the eyeball are decided from the points decided by the image processor 166 and the point stored as the initial values, and the direction of the glance is calculated from these directions. The decided glance direction is applied to an operation processor 163. On the other hand, a distance to the operator is decided, and the result is applied to the operation processor 163. Only when the operator is positioned closer than the distance decided in advance, the operation processor 163 outputs the cursor onto the display 161. Further, the cursor is moved corresponding to the direction of the glance.</p> |
