In an industrial process sensors T, P feed data continuously to transducers RC1, RC2 to record magnetically on an endless belt B from which the records are erased by a magnet WO before passing the transducers RC1, RC2 again. When a failure in the process occurs an alarm device ALM provides a signal which by actuating a relay causes a circuit to be closed through a capacitor C<SP>2</SP>, relay pick-up winding RP and a direct current supply to provide a pulse to the winding RP thereby closing contacts CC1, CC2, CC3, and CC4. A printer PTR then prints data picked up by transducers RP1, RP2 to provide a permanent record in conventional coding of conditions sensed before and at the time of the failure. Meanwhile a condenser C<SP>1</SP> becomes charged and a vacuum tube V passes current to operate a relay RL, and break the holding circuit of winding RH, so that the CC contacts open and printing ceases. A sample of the data can be printed at any time by closing a switch S. |
