PURPOSE:To extract the hue pattern of only an objective part even if a part common to the objective part in hue or the part of color phase irregularity coexists in a color input picture by setting automatically an optimum binarization threshold. CONSTITUTION:A picture element extracting part 11, a threshold calculating part 12, and a binary picture generating part 13 are provided, and the output of a color television camera 14 is supplied to the picture element extracting part 11. The picture element extracting part 11 is for extracting the picture element of the objective color input picture of the calculation of the binarization threshold, and a hue intensity calculating part 16 calculates the intensity of each hue of every picture element, and a condition judging part 18 judges whether the intensity of each hue satisfies a condition set by a condition setting part 17 or not, and if it satisfies the condition, a gate part 19 is opened so as to output this picture element data to the threshold calculating part 12. |
