The process is for feeding a motor from batteries which are divided into two sets, say A(2) and B(3), each able to accept the full motor load (1). Both battery sets are connected to the switching device (4), which alternately connects (5,6) each of them to the motor. Optionally, more than two battery sets may be used, which are sequentially switched and connected to the motor one after another. In electrically propelled vehicles with generating arrangements to recover energy during braking or descending, the switching device is elaborated so that the idle battery is recharged by the regenerative circuit. The rate of switching may be constant, determined by timer, or varied according to road conditions. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for electric vehicle. Extends range for given battery provision. More efficient regenerative charging.
