A die-cast aluminium alloy, based on primary Al99.7H aluminium metal, contains (in wt.%): 5-12 Si, less than 0.2 Fe, less than 0.01 Cu, max. 0.8 Mg, 0.1-0.5 Co, plus other permissible impurities. Die-cast Al-alloy Co content is 0.2-0.3 wt.%, and it joins the class of alloys contg. AlSi10, AlSi11, AlSi5Mg, AlSi7Mg, AlSi9Mg and AlSi11Mg. ADVANTAGE - The alloy exhibits low adhesion to the die and high elongation breaking values, both before and after age-hardening.
