Each side of the hank conveyor (2) are guides (39,41) which limit the transverse movement of the belt. These guides are set parallel to the running direction (14) of the belt and stretch along the whole length of the belt. The distance between the limiting guides is the same as the width of the belt plus a predetermined tolerance. The faces of the limiting guides may be interrupted at least once along their length so that a guide body may be inserted.
