The fibre optic arrangement includes a mechanism for generating a reflex signal with a property characteristic of subsystems connected to the arrangement at different locations in the vehicle. Optical stations located at the connected subsystems are controlled form a central point. The stations send a first reflex signal to the central controller whose starting time is a characteristic of a station. A state of the subsystem connected to the station is represented by the time interval between the first reflex signal and a subsequent second one. USE/ADVANTAGE - For detecting physical state parameters or states in subsystems of vehicle. Simple arrangement enables accurate detection of reflex signals from various locations within vehicle with low light path and analyser costs.
