In the welding method proposed, two continuous strips (1, 2) of material with surface protuberances, one without protuberances along the edges, the other with surface protuberances along the edges, are brought into contact, the edge without protuberances being placed behind that with protuberances and welding subsequently carried out with the application of pressure to the edges between the protuberances.
