The control circuit for the exterior mirror is arranged at the at least one inside mirror, and contains changeover contacts operated with its swivel movements, the inside mirror being assigned a manually operated swivel system. An electric adjusting motor (4) with a direction of rotation control (5,6) aligns the outside mirror relative to a vehicle occupant. The control circuit (12) stops the motor according to a number of revolutions corresp. to the swivel movements of the exterior mirror between its operating and anti-glare positions. ADVANTAGE - Remote operation of exterior mirror is carried out in comfort without opening window. Upon change of driver optimum mirror setting can be easily reset.
