An electrical regulator system provides for sequential regulation of a number of system components using a single measuring potentiometer and a large number of reference potentiometers. The output of the measuring potentiometer is commoned to a number of null detectors coupled to the reference potentiometers. The tapping of the first potentiometer is coupled to the next reference potentiometer. In parallel with all reference potentiometers are bias potentiometers and the taps are commoned. In operation the bias potentiometers can respond before the reference potentiometers. The null detectors are used to control relays coupled to different motors. The bias potentiometers ensure that the relays are switched ready to receive power when the reference condition is attained, to ensure a smooth changeover.
