<p>An improved lumbar spine support including preferably both an anterior shell (10) and a posterior shell (12 or 70) form-fitted around the corresponding torso areas. These shells (10 and 12) of the preferred embodiment are connectable by flexible fabric panels (50 and 52) and a strap arrangement (16 and 20) in opposing position tightly against the torso. The anterior shell (10) includes a V-shaped indentation (16) which hydrostatically lifts the lower abdominal musculature inwardly and upwardly. The posterior shell (12 or 70) includes an elongated upright indentation having a laterally extending wider lower portion for centering and securing the posterior shell (12 or 70) over the lumbosacral area of the spine. The posterior shell (70) may be used alone in conjunction with a two-part belt arrangement (72 and 74).</p> |
