Filter, e.g. for fuel, particularly in aircraft tank systems, having a housing (12) with at least one inlet and one outlet nozzle, and a liquid-tight closeable opening for installation and removal of at least one fifth ingot (15) which divides the housing (12) into internal compartments (17,18) with one of its ends resting on a mounting plate (14), novel in that the mounting plate (14) possesses a push-in element (26,35) which prevents closure of the opening in the housing (12) if the filter insert (15) is incorrectly located, or an incorrect insert is attempted to be fitted. USE/ADVANTAGE - Aero fuel filter which: (1) avoids downstream contamination by dirt, etc. diving maintenance replacement if the filter insert element, (2) prevents incorrect installation of the filter element, (3) prevents installation of the incorrect replacement filter element.
