Mfg. spherical shells for homo-kinetic joints - by deforming sequentially and radially tubular or cup-shaped blank with shaping cross-sectional reduction

The process focus spherical shells for homo-kinematic fixed joints with alternate spherical paths, open to different sides. A tubular, or cup-shaped blank (32) is locally, sequentially deformed radically. This is carried out by shaping reduction of its cross section. Simultaneously its inner shaft is formed against a convex profile mandrel (18), corrugated in peripheral direction, whose convex bends are different in a segmental shape. Pref. the deformation is carried out by swaging with oscillating, radially adjustable tools (10). USE/ADVANTAGE - For car front drive, with simple mfr. even of spherical shells with complicated spherical paths.
