An LRM connector (16;50;320;380) is joined to printed circuit boards (38,40;308,310) and secured to cover plates (22,24;302,304) of the LRM (12;300) at an end thereof to be mated with a mother board connector (18;160) mounted on a mother board (20) mounted within a black box (10). The LRM connector is float mounted within cover plates (22,24;302,304) on said LRM (12;300) and aligns itself with the mother board connector (18;160) when the LRM is inserted into the black box (10) while maintaining sealing engagement with the cover plates. A metal shroud (58;306) of the LRM connector (16;50;320;380) provides EMI shielding and engagement with the metal shroud (176) of the mother board connector (18;160) even if the two metal shrouds (58;306;176) are slightly misaligned with respect to each other.
