<p>A method and apparatus for generalised optimum detection and estimation of parameters defining a communication link. A Maximum A posteriori Probability approach is used to derive a method of analysing a communication link based on a general model describing a communication link in the form (I), where: ri = Received signal sample i; xi = Transmitted data sample; hij = Distortion; ni = Noise and/or interference sample; and, q = Parameters describing the noise and/or interference. The method can estimate x, h or Υ independently or jointly.</p> |
