PURPOSE:To easily bend a highly brittle, hard foamed plate-shaped body at oridinary or low temperature without breaking by a method wherein a desired number of recessed grooves are cut in one-side face of the portions to be bent, the bottom portion of each groove is pressed to be a compressed layer, and the plate-shaped body is bent with the compressed layers as bending axis lines. CONSTITUTION:A hard foamed plate-shaped body 1 to be bent is placed on a bench 2, and formed with a predetermined number of recessed grooves 3, leaving connection portions 6. With a pressing roll 5 located above the groove 3, the shaft of the roll 5 is lowered to apply a pressure to the bottom portion of the groove 3, thereby forming the connection portion 6 into a uniform compressed layer 7. The plate-shaped body 1 thus formed with an adequate number of compressed groove 3 is bent so that the grooved portions fit to the corrugated surface of a slate plate 8, then fitted and adhered to the plate 8. |
