<p>A centrifugal pump comprises a pump casing 15 and a pump backplate 9 which together define a pump chamber in which an open impeller 14 is mounted for rotation. Means 25, 26, 27, 28 are provided to effect axial adjustment between the pump casing 15 and the pump backplate 9, whereby the axial clearance between the pump casing 15 and the impeller 14 can be accurately set, and sealing means 12, 13, 24 are provided to effect a seal between the pump backplate 9 and the pump casing 15 at all relative positions of adjustment thereof. <IMAGE></p> |
