<p>The distribution of olefins obtained from the growth of low mol.wt. aluminium alkyls with ethylene may be altered by displacing the growth reaction product from a growth reactor zone with low mol wt. olefins accompanied by the formation of high mol wt. alpha-olefins. These alpha-olefins are separated from the Al trialkyl formed and the latter are lead to a reverse displacement zone, the former are separated into a low and high mol wt. fraction. The high mol wt. fraction is used as product. The low mol.wt. fraction is lead to the reverse displacement zone. The olefins are separated from the Al alkyls which are formed in the displacement zone. The latter Al alkyls are lead to the growth reactor zone and the olefins are separated again into high and low mol.wt. fractions. The low mol.wt. fraction is recycled as above and the olefins with high mol wt. are lead to the reverse displacement zone. Advantage is that process is continuous.</p> |
