The invention relates to a combustion chamber comprising an axis (3) and external (1A) and internal (2A) walls defining a combustion enclosure, each of these walls being equipped with passages controlling the admission to the interior of the enclosure of primary air. According to the invention, these passages (21B) comprise first oblong orifices (10) contained in radial planes passing via the axis (3) of the combustion chamber and made in the wall (1A), closing means (13) passed through by second orifices (20) which are centred in the radial planes of the first orifices (10) and a control device (19-17-18) for the closing means (13) parallel to the axis (3), which is capable of effecting covering of each first orifice (10) by a second orifice (20).
