PURPOSE:To provide a one-way roller clutch in which there is no distinction in the use of a clutch outer between clockwise rotation and counterclockwise rotation. CONSTITUTION:The recessed portion 5 of a one-way roller clutch 50 is formed by symmetrical wedge-shaped spaces 7a, 7b which get narrower in opposite directions and the outer peripheral surface 1a of a clutch inner. A roller 4 and a push spring 8 are disposed in the wedge-shaped spaces 7a and 7b, respectively, and the roller 4 is used in a clockwise roller clutch and the push spring 8 is reversed and used in a counterclockwise roller clutch. The recessed portion 5 has a protrusion at the boundary between the wedge-shaped spaces 7a, 7b while the interval L between the end 9a of the protrusion and the outer periphery 1a of the clutch inner 1 is smaller than the outside diameter (d) of the roller 4. Movement of the roller 4 is thereby regulated during an overrun so as to prevent the roller 4 from moving into the opposite side. |
