PURPOSE:To permit the insertion of a pipe without disassembling a nut and a biting-in member by forming an outer surface conical surface which contacts a coupling body inside conical surface and a collar part in contact with the edge surface of a coupling body, on a biting-in member which secures the airtightness and the prevention for pulling-out by reducing the diameter of the outer surface of a connection pipe. CONSTITUTION:A biting-in member 4 has a split 42, and further has a tapered outer surface 43 and a collar part 44, and the rear edge part 41 is attached to the surface 32 perpendicular to the axis of a nut 3. On the inner peripheral surface, two stripes of projections 46 for the biting on the outer surface of a pipe 2 are formed. As for a pipe coupling having a pipe outside diameter of 10-50mm, the thickness of the collar part 44 is set to 0.2-0.5mm, and is prevented from being deformed by the thrust in the insertion of the pipe by hands, and attitude is correctly held by the contact with the edge surface of a coupling body 1, and the tilt of the biting-in member 4 and the reduction of diameter are prevented. In the nut tightening after the installation of the pipe 2, the collar part 44 is deformed by the tightening thrust, and pushed in along the tapered inner surface 18 of the body, and reduction of diameter is carried out. As for the biting-in member 4, the frictional resistance of the tapered outer surface 43 is larger than that of the rear edge surface 41 in contact with the nut 3, so that the biting-in member 4 is prevented from corotating. |
