A microperforated solid sheet material transparent to a light of wavelengths in the visible or the infrared, characterised in that the average distance between two immediately adjoining perforations is at least 5, preferably 7 mu m, this being on both faces of the material. The average angle of inclination of the perforations in the thickness of the material is preferably lower than 10 DEG or even 5 DEG . In a particular embodiment the material is a membrane produced from a flexible polymeric film with a thickness of between 0.1 and 100 mu , more generally between 5 and 50 mu , and the perforation diameters being between 0.01 and 15 mu . The membranes obtained according to the invention are particularly useful as supporting membranes for a reading with an optical microscope or an infrared spectroscopy. They can also be employed, inter alia, as filter membranes or as cell culture support.
|
