发明名称 LOCK-UP MECHANISM FOR TORQUE CONVERTER
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a reliable operation even when a large clearance is set in order to prevent drag of a lock-up clutch piston of a torque converter. CONSTITUTION:An O-ring 31 and a check valve 32, when change-over is made from a converter mode to a lock-up mode, cause the generation of a differential pressure between the front and rear of a lock-up clutch piston 4 through a check action, and, also when reverse change-over is made, cause the generation of a differential pressure corresponding to a valve-opening pressure of the check valve 32. In either case, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of a delay of response to the change-over operation. Further, in the converter mode, the O-ring 31 and the check valve 32 can keep a differential pressure corresponding to the check valve 32 opening pressure to be always generated between the front and rear of the lock-up clutch piston 4, thereby keeping the lock-up clutch piston 4 at a position farthest away from a converter cover 2 so as to prevent the occurrence of drag.
