The steel sheet shells are pre-bent and then assembled in a preliminary station, before pressing and welding. The preliminary station has a rotatable manipulator with clamping arms for the steel shells. The clamping arms have clamps for joining the shell into a hollow cylinder, and can be moved on one side into and out of the power press. The latter is mounted in front of the manipulator and the clamping arms on the other side move into and out of the welding apparatus. |
