PURPOSE:To provide the objective agent excellent in antistatic properties. persistence of antistatic properties, durability. etc., by using a dispersion of a specific cationic ethylene-acrylamide copolymer as the main component. CONSTITUTION:A linear cationic copolymer comprising 65-99mol% ethylene units of formula I and 35-1mol% acrylamide units of formula II (wherein R<2> is ethylene or propylene; R<3> and R<4> are each methyl or ethyl; R<5> is a lower alkyl or an aralkyl; and X<-> is a halide ion or CH3CH2OSO3<->) and having a wt.-average mol.wt. of 1,000-50,000 is, e.g. emulsified in water to give a dispersion contg. 1-30wt.% the cationic copolymer. The dispersion is used as the main component to prepare the objective a gent, which is suitable for forming an antistatic coating film on a substrate made of a synthetic resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene. |
