<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the objective composition which gives a coating film excellent in anticorrosiveness, smoothness, etc., and is useful for cationic electrodeposition coating by using a resin having hydroxyl groups and cationic groups and a specified compound as the principal constituents. CONSTITUTION:This composition is composed mainly of: a resin having hydroxyl groups and cationic groups obtained by reacting the epoxidized functional groups of an epoxy resin having at least three epoxidized functional groups and preferably represented by formula I (e.g. EHPE3150, a product of Daicel Chemical Industries) with an amine compound having at least one primary hydroxyl group in the molecule (e.g. diethanolamine) and a phenolic compound having at least one phenolic hydroxyl group in the molecule (e.g. bisphenol A); and a compound having at least two glycidyl groups based on glycidylamino groups of formula II (wherein R is H or glycidyl) directly bonded to the carbon atoms of the aromatic ring (e.g. N,N-diglycidyl-o-toluidine).</p> |
