PURPOSE:To provide the subject cake composed of raw materials of glutinous rice cake dough, containing gelatinized grain flour as the main component, having a specified particle size and accommodated in a water-permeable package and capable of instantly providing a cake similar to a glutinous rice cake merely by immersing the package in an aqueous medium and of enjoying the visual change in the preparation process. CONSTITUTION:The objective cake is obtained by accommodating raw materials 1 of glutinous rice cake dough, containing particles composed mainly of gelatinized grain flour and having 32 to 100 mesh particle size in an amount of 60wt.% in a package 2 immersible into an aqueous medium so that a glutinous rice cake 5 may be formed from the raw materials 1 of glutinous rice cake dough in the package 2 by immersing it in an aqueous medium 5. The gelatinized grain flour can be obtained preferably by gelatinizing and drying potato starch or waxy corn starch as the raw material using a hot roller and subsequently grinding it. As the material of the package, nonwoven fabric or thin paper is preferably used from the viewpoint of formability of the cake, separability of the package after forming, safety, etc. |
