PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material excellent in image preservabillty and background preservability and utilizing a novel color forming mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material utilizes a color forming reaction of color forming components consisting of a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compd., an unsaturated bond-containing compounds (e.g. a compound containing a terminal vinyl group) and an acidic substance (e.g. carboxylic acid, sulfonic acid or phosphoric acid).
