PURPOSE:To provide a differential gear unit for vehicle which can generate so-called preload without use of a spring. CONSTITUTION:A differential gear device for a vehicle comprising a differential case 2, a pair of shafts 5, 6 supported by this differential case 2, a pair of side gears 7, 8 connected to the paired shafts, at least a pair of element gears 11, 12 meshed with the paired side gears respectively, and a pair of engagement gears 15, 16 for causing mutual rotation of the element gears. An attractive magnetic force generation member 43 which causes mutual connection of the side gears is provided on at least one opposing end portion of the paired side gears 7, 8.
