PURPOSE:To produce a magnesia/chromia base refractory excellent in corrosion resistance by adjusting the particle size of the refractory aggregate. CONSTITUTION:In the refractory aggregate comprising primarily 10-60wt.% chromite and/or magnesia/chromia and the balance of magnesia, the compound having 3-20wt.% particles in >=1mm particle diameter and the balance in <=1mm, and having also >=40wt.% magnesia of >=1mm particle diameter is molded and then is fired at high temp. Since a specific particle size comprising primarily fine particles is used, the corrosion resistance is enhanced without degrading a heat resistant spalling property. |
