PURPOSE:To provide a base isolation material which is rigid in vertical direction and less in rigid in horizontal direction by providing a thin holding layer on the inner surface of a cylindrical base isolation member in which reinforcement plates and elastic rubber layers are laminated alternately, filling a low elastic member in it, and deforming it integrally according to a deformation of the base isolation member in horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION:A base isolation material 2 provided between a base and a building is formed cylindrically by laminating and sticking reinforcing plates 20 and elastic rubber layers 21 alternately. Then a thin holding layer 3 which is deformed integrally according to a deformation in horizontal direction is provided on the inner surface of the material 2. Also the holding layer 3 is formed with rubber, plastic, etc., which is lower in elasticity than the elastic rubber layers 21. In addition, a low elastic member 4 formed with butadiene rubber, etc., is filled in the holding layer 3. Then a specified rigidity in vertical direction is secured, and a rigidity in horizontal direction is more reduced. Thus a base isolation material suitable for light-weight building can be obtained easily. |
