PURPOSE:To provide ink jet recording paper used in machinery of an ink jet recording system of every kind, excellent in ink receptivity, drying properties, image density and sharpness, generating no strike-through of ink, excellent in recording aptitude, generating no paper powder, excellent in the capacity keeping properties of an apparatus and imparting a high-grade image of high image quality. CONSTITUTION:Ink jet recording paper has an image receiving layer formed by coating or impregnating its base paper with an aqueous coating solution. The base paper contains 6-20wt.% porous pigment whose apparent specific gravity due to JIS K-6220 is 0.10-0.50g/cm<3> and the initial contact angle 8 to water of the surface of the base paper is 45-100 deg.. |
