PURPOSE:To obtain a chargeable, compact battery with large discharge capacitance and high energy density by using a tetrazolium compound as a positive electrode active material in a battery using lithium as a negative electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:The felt 4 consisting of the lithium negative electrode 2, porous polypropylene diaphragm 3, and carbon fibers and the positive electrode flux 5 are housed in the stainless container 1 and is enclosed with the nylon packing 6 to obtain a button type battery. As the positive electrode compound 5 of such a battery, tetrazolium compound (material containing the tetrazolium ring consisting of one carbon atom and four nitrogen atoms in its molecule), for example, 2,3,5- triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TCC) powder and acetylene black which are mixed with electrolyte is used. For example, as the electrolyte, 1mol/l solution of LiC lO4 dissolved in distilled and dehydrated propylene carbonate is used by impregnating it into the felt 4. |
