A device for branch trimming of a tree trunk comprises a two-part tubular construction for embracing the tree trunk. The two parts have cutting edges at one end, and are pivotally interconnected at the other end. The two parts are resiliently urged together to maintain the device in contact with the trunk even when the diameter of the trunk varies.
