The invention relates to a mobile compost container (1) in the form of a closed container (cuboid shape) with connections (2) for the introduction and removal of air for the composting process, with a double base (3) which is formed by a continuous lower base plate (4) and a perforated plate (5) arranged above it, with waste water removal from the hollow space in the double base (3) and with at least one loading hatch (6) in the top and at least one discharge hatch (7) in a side wall of the compost container (1). In order to improve a generic compost container in such a way that traditional disadvantages are largely avoided and the compost container can easily be emptied and cleaned it is proposed that the perforated base is formed from a number of U-shaped profiles (8) whose central bridges (9) are in each case arranged on the top closely adjacent to one another and in which the air holes (11) are incorporated into the central bridges (9) and that the side supports (10) of the U-shaped profiles (8) rest loosely on cross-supports (12) of the double base (3) with their lengthwise axis pointing in the direction of the discharge hatch (7).
