Arrangement for use by dentists when working on a patient. When working in the oral cavity, it is necessary to have good drainage, a good field of vision and enough space for various instruments. These requirements have been achieved by designing the arrangement such that it comprises a loop 2 which runs along the outer and inner margins of the teeth of the lower jaw, without at any point passing over any tooth. The loop holds the cheeks and lower lip out and leaves the mouth directly at the front, the lower lip being pressed down by the downwardly running shaft 6. The loop is provided with a channel 3 on the top side, opening obliquely in towards the teeth. The channel continues downwards on the front side of the shaft to about two cm from the end of the shaft, where it merges into a tube 5 which constitutes an attachment part 4 for suction equipment at the dental work station. The inner part of the loop is provided with a ridge which is approximately 1 cm high and which keeps the tongue away. Before autoclaving and use, the channel is covered with a perforated tape. The tape is removed before cleaning. <IMAGE> |
