PURPOSE:To firmly connect every other exposed internal electrode to an external electrode and to isolate the unconnected internal electrodes from the external electrode by making insulation layer adhere to unplated sections of the electrodes to remove precipitated metal. CONSTITUTION:After electrostriction effect layers 1 and 2 and internal electrodes 3 and 4 are alternately superposed, temporary external electrodes are provided on two faces of the multilayer body from which every other internal electrodes are exposed. Next, one temporary external electrode is used as negative electrode to precipitate metal by plating on the exposed portions of the internal electrodes exposed from one face of the multilayer body, and then using the other temporary external electrode as negative electrode to precipitate metal is precipitated by plating on the exposed portions of the internal electrodes exposed from the other face of the laminated layer. Further, insulating layers 7 and 8 are electrophoretically made to adhere to the portions uncovered by plating and is then baked, and the precipitated metal is partly exposed. Next, the exposed part of precipitated metal is dissolved and removed to expose every other internal electrodes 3 and 4, thereby finally forming external electrodes 9 and every other internal electrodes are connected. |
